Lenze Americas launch of i5x0 protec, update on SMVector

We would like to inform you of forthcoming 25% price increases on SMVector (SMV) products ordered after July 7, 2025, to align with Lenze’s upcoming pricing changes. The SMV products are subject to price pressures due to their 20 year old design, and outdated components. Lenze has introduced the i510 and i550 models, both in cabinet mounted and Protec (wall mounted) versions, as a replacement for the SMV. All Lenze VFDs sold by Electram are cUL certified.

SMV Price increase: 25%

Effective increase date for new SMV orders: July 8, 2025

As per Lenze Product Management:

The Lenze SMV has steadfastly been a reliable cornerstone in our portfolio of motion control products since 2006. We remain committed to developing products that provide enhanced performance, additional features, while effectively addressing your future challenges.

In alignment with our commitment to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions, we have introduced the i510 protec and i550 protec drives as a suitable replacement for the SMV. These advanced products are competitively priced in comparison to the SMV, frequently offering a discount, while simultaneously providing superior performance, reduced installation times, and a more robust supply chain than their SMV predecessors.

Regarding tariffs, as a US-based manufacturer with an increasingly robust domestic supply chain, we at Lenze Americas are continuing to closely monitor the impact of tariffs to our business, our customers, and our suppliers. Despite the general market uncertainty surrounding global trade, we also firmly believe in maintaining cost, quality, and lead-time stability where possible and will therefore follow the development of this fluid situation and carefully assess the impact in the event we feel it necessary to communicate a temporary tariff surcharge.
