MC series solid-state (or electronic) phase converters offer "big drive" features for adapting standard or premium efficiency three phase motors to adjustable speed operation -  from a single phase  power supply!  Utilizing the latest microprocessor and advanced IGBT power conversion devices, these high performance controllers program and read-out in plain English terms, eliminating the frustration and time involved in looking up confusing coded symbols. Complete, rugged steel enclosures for NEMA 1 (IP31) or NEMA 4/12 (IP65) service do not require additional enclosure protection as with many plastic-housed compact drives. Built-in thermal overload protection reduces additional costs. Heavy-duty wiring terminals, accessible via three conduit openings on the bottom of the housing, speed installation time and costs.

These electronic products are rated  for 240v single phase input, and will operate a motor at its full rated HP.

SMVector frequency inverter – NEMA 1 (IP31)

Our most technically advanced inverter drive continues Lenze - AC Tech's tradition of innovative compact inverter design. The performance and flexibility make the SMVector an attractive solution for a broad range of AC Motor applications and with several communications protocols available, networking drives and components into a system solution can be done now or in the future.

The SMVector NEMA 1 (IP31) is the most common and cost effective drive enclosure for a wide range of applications including packaging, material handling / conveying, positive displacement pumping, and HVAC systems.

The power ranges of the SMVector with NEMA 1 (IP31) include:

  • 120/240V – 1 phase Input, up to 1.5 HP 
  • 200/240V – 1 or 3 phase Input, up to 20 HP 3 phase (or 1 phase 10 HP).
  • 400/480V – 1 or 3 phase Input, up to 30 HP 3 phase (or 1 phase 15 HP).
  • 480/600V – 1 or 3 phase Input, up to 30 HP 3 phase (or 1 phase 15 HP).

 

The SMVector Series can be used with 3-phase AC induction motors and is available in NEMA 1 (IP31) , NEMA 4X (IP65) ¹ and NEMA 4X (IP65) ¹ with an integral disconnect switch. Filtered input versions of the SMV are available in NEMA 4X (IP65) models for compliance with the CE EMC directive.

Programmable digital and analog I/O allow the drive to be configured for many application specific tasks such as multiple preset speeds, electronic braking and motor jogging to name a few. Like all Lenze - AC Tech sub-micro drives, the SMVector uses EPM memory technology for fast and efficient programming.

¹ type 4X (IP65) enclosures are available for either indoor use, suitable for most indoor industrial environments; or indoor/outdoor use that offers UV protection and has higher impact strength at low temperatures.

SCM / SCF Series drives are available for 0.25 HP when connected to a single phase input of 120v (output voltage is still 230v with 120v input), or 10 HP maximum connected to a 240v single phase supply.

These solid-state phase converter/speed controllers are compact (See dimension key), yet loaded with features usually only associated with expensive drives! Remove your equipment's existing magnetic starter, and mount the SC / SCF series drive in its place. Alternatively, order an optional vented enclosure along with the drive. Connect your existing (Stop/Start push buttons or Hand/Off/Auto selector) to the drive's terminal board, power up, and select the drive's operating parameters.

For speed control, use either the SC / SCF built-in miniature buttons, or request a speed potentiometer kit (optional for the SC / SCF drive), mount this potentiometer on your enclosure, and connect back to the drive terminal strip. Nothing could be easier!
