1.1 - Wye Delta
starters can only be used for motors with six (6) output terminals for which the voltage
in the delta |
connection
corresponds to the mains voltage. |
1.2 - The YD type
starters should be used for machines with no-load starting or with low constant or
slightly increasing |
resistent torque. |
1.3 - The
transition from Wye to Delta should be made only when the motor speed is at steady-state,
close to the rated |
value. A resistent
torque increasing too rapidly as in the case of centrifugal motors, causes speed
stabilization at |
values too low and
consequently a current value too high during the delta switch-over, risking all advantages
of this |
type of starting. |
1.4 - The YD type
starters are suitable for machines having either a low PD (i.e. 4 - 6 second acceleration
time) or for |
motors where the
maximum acceleration time will not exceed 30 seconds. |
1.5 - Timer T1
should be adjusted to cause the delta switch-over at the motor steady-state value. |
1.6 - Timer T2
(transition timer) should be maintained at 50ms for most applications. |
