Confused about purchasing a converter through the Internet "phase converter
jungle"?
We would be too.
Our aim is to provide clear, concise, and accurate information in a format that is easy to
understand.
While multiple web sites abound, several of which proclaim their
ability to provide only
the best converters, or the best of the best of the best
converters, we would like to
suggest that anyone shopping for a converter should consider the following six points of
comparison:
1 - Compare price. |
|
2 - Compare warranty (specifically the warrantys terms). |
3 - Compare Cast Iron benefits (versus Cold
Rolled Steel) for the rotary generator. |
4 - Consider the manufacturer's testimonials,
history, staff knowledge and helpfulness. |
5 - Consider if the converter comes complete
with magnetic starter or if you will have to separately purchase a (fusible disconnect c/w
time delay fuses) to start the converter. |
6 - Evaluate PhaseMAXX's new
soft-start option and consider which other manufacturer is able to offer an equivalent
(super!) feature. |

Web sites encouraging shoppers to purchase just a converter
control panel and connecting the same to an old electric motor you may have, try to
capitalize on their ability to reduce your cost at any cost - even
when that means compromising the quality of power the converter will develop. And make no
mistake about it. A converter put together with electric components supplied by a
converter manufacturer and subsequently connected to an old electric motor is
by its finest definition; a jury-rig.
Will the jury-rig provide three-phase power? ......
Possibly.
Will it provide three-phase power similar to that of a three-phase Utility? ......
Undeniably not.
Will it operate your electric motors? ...... It may for a while.
But thats just it. for a while may not be for very
long. See why by pressing here.
